Installing a green roof

Laying out a green roof.

More and more people decide to install a green roof with ready-made sedum cassettes.
A sedum roof has many advantages.

  • Longer life expectancy of roofing material
  • Thermal and sound insulation of the roof
  • Environmentally friendly image
  • Water regulation
  • Visual advantages
  • Financial advantage

In principle, a sedum roof can be laid throughout the year.
However, spring and autumn are the most suitable periods to do this job.
These seasons are best for plant growth.

A green roof requires very little maintenance.
It is best to remove weeds and fertilise your roof garden twice a year.
The best period for this maintenance is April and September.
The sedum conditioner is also available from Alka-Products in pots of 1kg and buckets of 5kg.

With the Alka ready-made sedum cassettes, you can easily get started yourself.

The TE Sedum trays are available individually and measure 45.0 x 49.5 cm. This tray can be used on flat and slightly sloping roofs with a gradient of up to 15 degrees. Installation is extremely simple. The Sedum trays can be clicked together. To protect the roof covering, it is advisable to place a protective sheet under the trays.
